Meet Pastor Amy

Amy finally answered her call to ordained ministry around 2007, when she enrolled in seminary through Pfeiffer University’s partnership with Wesley Theological Seminary.  Even before her ordination as a Deacon in 2014 with the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church, she served in Methodist Churches, first as a volunteer, a Sunday School teacher, writer of curriculum, worship leader, director of worship Arts, directing youth and children’s choirs and an every-age drama ministry and more.  If you really want to know more, you can find her resume and ministry addendum  here: Amy’s CV 2021.docx and Ministry Addendum February 2023.  Her work experience also includes five years working with a non-profit vocational arts program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (UMAR), and time as a public school teacher.  Her most recent appointment, before The Lakeshore Collective, was as pastor of Marvin UMC in Lincolnton, NC.

As an advocate and ally for those hurt by the church, through disaffiliation or exclusion, she began more ministry outside the walls of “the church” during her time at Marvin, and including online gatherings for worship, study, and fellowship, as well as conversations in public places in the community.  For such a time as this, a time that cries out for healing and hope, she feels particularly called.
